Compaq Armada 1750 goes directly to CMOS setup at power up
Follow this procedure:
1) Turn off computer
2) Remove all external devices (PC cards, etc.)
3) Remove battery and unplug AC power cord
4) Wait at least 1 minute
5) Plug in AC power
6) Upon reboot, perform Fn+F11 (it should work at this point)
7) Follow steps to boot into Windows

j'ai vu çà au sujet du disque dur:
How to remove passwords for a Compaq Armada 1750 (or other model in the 1700 series).
How did you come to possess a computer that you don't know the password(s) for? If it was you who set the password(s) and you have forgotten it (them), you merely take it to a Compaq repair place and have them remove the power-on and/or the Setup passwords, or you can attempt to do it yourself, with no instruction available (see below).
If you bought this computer (at a really cheap price presumably) from someone and it had this (these) passwords , why didn't they remove them before you bought it? Is there a possibility this computer was stolen, and the seller couldn't possibly know the password(s)? In this case, taking such a computer to a Compaq repair place may get you arrested, for at least possesion of stolen property.
......
Here is the manual for this (1700) series of computers. There is a lot of info about passwords under the heading "Security Features". Copy, paste this line into the "Address" line of Internet Explorer (or similar in another browser) to display this manual. To save it to your hard drive, click on the floppy icon in Acrobat Reader.
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/supporti [...] ev3_us.pdf
....
This is what the manual says if you forgot (or don't know) your power-on password:
"If you forget your power-on password, computer must be disassembled, and the memory cleared. Contact your Compaq authorized dealer, reseller, or service provider for assistance."
There also can be a Setup password required to get into your bios to make configuration changes. Presumably this password can also be removed by doing the above.
.....
To get into the bios (configuration) Setup, you press F10 when the cursor jumps to the upper right corner of the screen while booting (see manual). If there is a Setup password and you don't know it, you will not be able to get into Setup. Presumably you can only remove the password by the above procedure (clearing the memory, of the bios/cmos).
....
There also can be a user and master password to protect hard drive access. According to Compaq, "If you do not know at least the master password, the hard drive is permanently inaccessible." Password can only be changed/removed on the computer it was entered on, (or possibly on another very similar computer e.g. another in the 1700 series).
I have no idea whether there is some other way of getting around this situation.
.....
There are no instructions in the manual about where the motherboard (cmos, bios) battery is, where any jumper to clear the cmos is (if there is one), how to disassemble the computer or how to clear the memory (of the bios/cmos). You either take the computer to someone who services/repairs these computers, or you can attempt this yourself, with no instruction. If cmos/bios battery is removable, or can be disconnected some other way, and/or if you can find a jumper to clear the cmos, often close to the battery, you may be able to remove the power-on and/or setup password by removing the battery, or moving or removing the jumper to clear the bios, for at least 5 minutes.
