The DDTS-100 allows console and PC users, and home theater folks as well, to connect existing components to an existing PC sound system. It handles all decoding chores and spits out a processed signal through traditional 1/8-inch outputs. It provide an easy way to connect your Xbox, Playstation 3, Bluray disc player, Ipod, MP3 player, HDTV, Set-top box and many other various source simultaneously to your GigaWorks, MegaWorks, Klipsch ProMedias, etc... . You do not need those expensive bulky home audio system anymore. Because this decoder together with any 5.1 or 7.1 speaker system will do the job amazingly well and provide you with cinematic experience.
 
Creative didn't skimp with the DDTS-100. It has plenty of processing power (all the way to 7.1) and a healthy bank of inputs and outputs. It also has a handy switchbox that allow you to toggle between the decoder and your PC sound with the flick of a switch. The switchbox should tip you off that the DDTS-100 is aimed at gamers who have their PC and console/s in the same area, e.g. a bedroom, dorm room, small office, etc.
 
The DDTS-100 can handle about any type of signal you can throw at it. Built-in decoders include Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS, DTS-ES, and DTS Neo:6.  This means that the unit will be able to handle the signal from any piece of electronics you might have from DVD players, game console, TV, set-top box to PC audio card. Console gamers will be more than taken care of.
 
The DDTS-100 is also endowed with an awesome input/output scheme. A look at the back panel shows three digital optical inputs, one digital coaxial input, and three analog RCA inputs. The outputs are three 1.8-inch jacks that should look familiar to you PC users. At the back panel there is a small switch. This switch tells the DDTS-100 whether you have a 5.1 or 6.1/7.1 speaker system connected. This is to prevent the loss of source material if you are only using a 5.1 system.
 
The front panel of the DDTS-100 has two headphone jacks. Creative rightly guessed that often two gamers are playing together. The twin jacks allow this without hassle.
