Will DirectX 11 be followed by DirectX 12 or DirectX 11.1 ? By an leaked Intel roadmap, it's the later.

Sandy Bridge currently use an 6-generation graphics core, supports DirectX 10.1 and OpenGL 3.0. Ivy Bridge, due for H1 2012, will evolve to the 7th generation, supporting DirectX 11 and OpenGL 3.1.

In 2013, Haswell will use 22nm and a new architecture, will integrate an enhanced version of its seventh-generation Intel graphics core that supports OpenGL 3.2 and DirectX 11.1, while the recommended operating system is the 64-bit version of Windows 8.

Haswell will use Tri-Gate 22nm manufacturing process technology, and adjustable TDP technology.  Haswell also will have new AVX2 instruction. Release is set for H1 2013 for consumers, and Q1 2014 for servers.

In addition, Intel is also working to make their own graphics core obtain a variety of professional graphics software certification  for DirectX and OpenGL.
