On dirait que Xfree essai de frequence et résolution qui ne sont pas dans ton XF86config-4, es-tu sur que c'est bien le bon fichier, et que tu n'a pas un autre fichier de conf qui traine ? Essai de reconfiguré ton serveur X avec

Sinon essai d'installer X.org. Des paquet on été fait par buntu.
Pour otn problèem d'agp que te donne un lsmod ? Ta compilé agpgart en dur ou en module ? quel est ton chipset ?

je ne sais pas pour quelle raison il teste toutes ces fréquences, elles ne sont pas spécifiées dans le fichier de config.
j'ai déjà fais "dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86" plusieurs fois mais rien d'anormal...
j'avais compilé agpgart en dur dans le noyau avec le module du 440BX (chipset de la carte mère) mais ça ne fonctionnait pas. J'ai envuite compilé en module agpgart.

Je l'ai chargé avec modprobe, il apparait dans lsmod

Et pour xfce tu as ajouté ton user au groupe video ?

effectivement ça fonctionne comme ça, j'avais la flème de tester mais finalement il n'y a que ça qui marche! merci

Hum regarde dans ton XF86Config au niveau de la section souris tu as une valeur avec "false" remplace la par "true" je vois que ca

Je n'arrive pas à faire fonctionner correctement xfree avec une rage128pro et un écran LCD L1920P (19" 1280*1024).

De plus l'AGP ne fonctionne pas alors que le module a bien été compillé et agpgart est bien chargé lorsque je lance X, dans le log j'ai :
