je conseillerai surtout de vérifier les options de compilation et de fouiller le /var/log/dmesg pour comprendre ce qui a foiré.
Je doute que ce soit la faute du 2.6.7

Re,
je suis retourné sous knoppix, en rechrootant ma debian.
J'ai recompilé mon noyau 2.6.6 qui vient de debian, et toujours le meme kernel panic au démarrage :-(
(j'ai bien fait toues les etapes :
make dep clean bzImage modules
make modules_install
make install qui remet a jour lilo en mm temps)
Que puis-je faire?

c'est normal que ton noyau soit compilé avec les support SMP ?
sinon, je ne pas. essaies de forcer un runlevel particulier et/ou de booter en single en passant un argument directement à lilo/grub ....

Bonjour,
le problème est réglé.
MOn noyau etait bien compilé, mais il ya quelques temps, j'avais viré une partoche et ca avait décalé les identifcateurs et depuis le temps j'avais pas fair de lilo -v.
Et en fait, c'est le lilo -v, au moment, ou j'ai volu mettre le nouveau noyau qui a foutu le bordel, pq il avait gardé dans le lilo l'ancien hda qui était hda9 alors que je suis en hda10 là, donc une simple modif dans la ligne root= a suffit.
Je vous remercie beaucoup.
Par contre, en recompilant,e le nvidia pour le noyau 2.6.7, il me posait plein de questions, genre tel mateirel inclus, et j'avais le choix entre n et M, alors y'en avaittellement, que j'ai appuyé sur enter, jusqu'çà ce qu'il compile.
J'ai installé le deb, il a l'air de marcher.

J'aurais bien voulus t'aider,
mais moi chaque fois je compile le noyau 2.6.7-rc3,
je n'ai aucun probleme a part la carte son qui ne marche plus et l'ecran qui est noir au demarrage (probleme resolut avec vga=normal, mais toujours pas le son.)

BOnour,
j'ai voulu me compiler le dernier noyau de kernel.org cad le 2.6.7 (je suis sous debian)
DOnc je l'ai compilé avec make dep clean bzImages modules
make modules_install et make install comme d'habitude et là au démarrage, j'ai un kernel panic: no init found. Try passing int=option to kernel.
J'ai donc booté sur une knoppix, pour ressayer de recompiler mon noyau 2.6.7 en chrootant sur ma débian ,mais ca ne change rien.
Pour ne pas encore perdre 20 mn, à recompiler le 2.6.6, j'ai changé les liens symboliques de vlinuz et System.map pour qu'ils pointent vers vmlinuz-2.6.6 et System.map-2.6.6 au lieu de vmlinuz-2.6.7 et System.map-2.6.7 et j'ai rebooté mais ca ne change rien.
Que me conseillez-vous?
De rebooter sur la knoppix, de chrooter et de recompiler mon ancien noyau 2.6.6?
