NOTE du Forum americain.

NOTE WELL:  THIS IS A SPECIAL FIRMWARE RELEASE FOR THE *ORIGINAL* SERIES
NOMAD JUKEBOX ONLY (includes all C series, 6, 10 and 20 GB models)

Creative Labs is pleased to offer our NOMAD Jukebox customers a major
firmware upgrade.  This upgrade that will change the way you use your
Jukebox.  The upgrade offers a number of  new functionality options.  PLEASE
review the documentation provided with the upgrade files for complete
details.  The major changes include:

1.  Reprogramming of the volume wheel to become a scroller, similar to the
new Jukebox 3.  The new scroller function allows you to navigate menus more
easily.  Volume adjustment is now handled by the up/down arrow buttons (when
the headphone jack is occupied).
2.  Redesigned User Interface.  The menu system has been considerably
revised for easier navigation.  The organization and icons are all revised.
Many of the changes are quite similar to those we have implemented in the
Jukebox 3.

Again, please review the documentation.  It may take some adjustment to
become familiar with the new menu system, but once you do, I think you will
find it much more functional.  Jukebox 3 users will now find their friend's
original Jukebox models are nearly as easy to use.

Should you want to, you can revert to previous firmware and return the UI
and button functions to their original state.

The Creative NOMAD Jukebox was a prototypical device when released in
October 2000.  It is approaching its second birthday.  In an age when most
such devices are obsolete within 6 months to a year,  and companies
frequently forget older models when new ones are launched, we are delighted
to be able to still offer up-to-date functionality improvements, at no
charge, and it will not stop here.  We  hope you appreciate our efforts to
keep your Jukebox fresh and useful.  The 4.0 firmware upgrade was no trivial
effort.  It involved countless engineering man-hours to overhaul the
firmware this extensively.  We hope you believe the effort was justified.

Note that this special release is currently marked as BETA.  This release is
a product of Creative Americas and has undergone a great deal of testing but
not through all of the worldwide test centers that Creative uses in standard
worldwide releases.  We know of no serious bugs and we do not expect users
to have any major difficulties.  The final release is expected in about 30
days.  However, we encourage you to try the 4.0 beta and provide your
feedback.
