server X avec une Savage/IX-MV sur portable [MDK] - Installation - Linux et OS Alternatifs

Bonjour,  
 
je suis en train de tenter une install de Linux (mdk 9.2) sur mon portable (toshiba satellite pro 4270).
donc, apparemment, tout fonctionne correctement, (wi-fi USB etc) mais, quand je lance un serveur X, j'obtiens au bout de qq minutes un freeze complet de la machine. Cela se passe quand j'ouvre des fenetres. Je remarque des bugs graphique, et tout est figer.
 
J'utilise les drivers Savage generic, avec pointeur software... j'ai essayer d autre driver, et j ai le meme probleme...

peux tu donner les logs d'xfree86 ? peut etre une explication s y trouve t elle ?
tu as regarder sur les sites parlant de l installation d'un distrib sur les laptops ?

comment je vois ca ? je connais vraiment pas bien X. j ai commencer y a pas tres lgt, et j utilise surtout le mode console.

dans /var/log/Xfreebla.log ;) (apparte/perso c'est un des "plaisirs" par rapport a win :  les logs!!)

bizarre, je ne suis pas un expert mais j'ai l'impression qu'il detecte un ecran lcd .. tu es sur de ne pas lui avoir dit que c'etait un ecran  lcd ?
 
parceque a part ca et la suite : Not using default mode blabla  
ca a l air correct ;)
 
 
edit : il trouve que la frequence horizontale et/ou verticale est trop élevé ...  dans le fichier de conf essaye de la baisser ou
mettre qu'une seule valeur en accord avec la doc de la cartevideo/ecran
 
oui je sais c du bricolage, mais la tout de suite je ne vois pas mieux ....

euh je suis un boulay ;)  
 
regarde du cote du prog situe plus haut  et des modlines (mais ca m'etonnerait)  
 
Ce serait possible que tu es une declinaison speciale du savage (souvent le cas pour les cartes videos de portables) ne marchant pas tres bien avec les drivers xfree ... enfin je sais pas trop ...
 
je peux pas vraiment t'aider la en fait ;) desoler :(

A noter, dans le CVS d'XFree, VIA prépare les nouveaux drivers savage qui devraient être très bien (3D, support sortie TV).
